What is the status of Coronavirus in Australia?
The Victorian Government has announced that the lockdown will be extended due to the level of community transmission of COVID-19 and unlinked cases.
Most of the restrictions will remain in place until 70 percent of the state have had one or more doses of the vaccine. When 70 percent of us have had at least one dose, the government will look to increasing the number of construction workers on-site to 50 percent, providing 90 percent of workers have received at least one vaccine dose.
Until then, the five reasons to leave home apply: shopping for food/supplies, essential work and study, care and caregiving, exercise, and of course getting vaccinated. Other restrictions – including wearing face masks – will remain in place.
